BlackBerry has officially unveiled the BlackBerry KEY2, one of the only phones left with a physical keyboard. It improves on the previous design by making the keyboard height bigger with the keys more spaced out for a better typing experience. It has a 4.5" screen, 64GB of storage, 6GB of RAM and a mid-tier Snapdragon 660 processor plus a 3,500 mAh battery with an advertised two days of life. It also has a new dual 12MP camera setup with Portrait Mode. The BlackBerry KEY2 will be available globally later this month with a $649 price tag.

ASUS has just unveiled its own gaming smartphone at Computex 2018. The ROG Phone boasts an exclusive Snapdragon 845 SoC with Qualcomm's fastest ever clock speed, along with the world's first 3D vapor-chamber cooling system. It also includes a specially-optimized graphics processor and a 6" HDR display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The ROG Phone will be available "shortly" in either 128GB or 512GB of storage options. Pricing information has yet to be announced.

According to reports, President Trump has resisted all efforts to use a secured mobile device, instead relying on two of off-the-shelf cellphones. One phone for Twitter only and the other for placing calls. And while the phones used for calls are being swapped out regularly, Trump has pushed back on regular security checks and replacements of his Twitter phone, calling them "too inconvenient." White House officials stated that Trump has gone as long as five months without having his Twitter device checked by IT staff.

Internal documents from a court filing have revealed that Apple knew that the iPhone 6 was 3.3 times more likely to bend than the iPhone 5s with the 6 Plus being 7.2 times likely. The documents of an internal testing were obtained from a class-action lawsuit where plaintiffs accuse Apple of misleading customers about a flickering gray bar at the top of the screen due to bending or flexing from normal use. The documents also revealed that Apple quietly reinforced part of the logic board associated with the issue over a year after the model was launched to avoid "manifestation of chip defects induced by bending." The company eventually acknowledged the issue and offered to fix affected devices for $149, although it blamed it on owners dropping their phones on hard surfaces.

Orlando police chief confirms they're testing Amazon's facial recognition software in public. He admitted that three of the city's cameras downtown are also equipped with the software. Privacy advocates are concerned that authorities could abuse their power using Amazon's facial recognition tech. The Orlando police chief added that the facial recognition can help authorities catch murder suspects and stalkers, and that they'd "never use this technology to track random citizens, immigrants, political activists or certainly not, people of color." It appears Lenovo has been working on a smartphone with an incredibly small screen-to-body ratio. Lenovo VP Chang Cheng shared a teaser of what is said to be the Lenovo Z5, a new flagship featuring 95% screen. Rumor has it the Lenovo Z5 would be unveiled on June 14. It will be interesting to see how the company integrates the front camera and earpiece speaker.
