Samsung has acquired consumer electronics and automotive company Harman for $8 billion. This will give Samsung access to Harmon Kardon, JBL, Bang & Olufsen and Infinity brands. While Harman is known for consumer audio, the bulk of its revenue comes from the automotive industry. This immediately provides Samsung a strong foundation to grow an automotive platform.
