For those still doubting that autonomous vehicles are going to be driving alongside us very soon, consider the first self-driving truck has successfully completed a delivery. Otto, the self-driving transport truck company owned by Uber, made its first delivery moving 50,000 cans of Budweiser beer over 130 miles from Fort Collina, CO to Colorado Springs. Otto’s technology includes $30,000 worth of hardware that can work with any big rig with an automatic transition. Expect self-driving technology to become much more common as manufacturers fight for position in this new category.
