High-End Camera Maker RED Announces The Hydrogen One Smartphone For $1,200

The RED Hydrogen One will be able record premium quality videos and images with the ability to play back the media on the world’s first holographic multi-view display without glasses. The display definitely isn’t a regular screen as it can seamlessly switch between 2D and 3D content plus the holographic multi-view. Audio is also expected to be impressive with the multi-dimension technology that should complement the holographic video format.

The RED Hydrogen One is an Android smartphone that will feature a large 5.7″ screen, microSD card slot for storage expansion, and USB-C port for faster charging and data transfer. It also features a modular component system so users can attach add-ons in the future.
As expected, the smartphone will be integrated with RED’s professional camera lineup that can cost as much as $50,000. The phone can be used as the user interface and monitor.
The Hydrogen One is an unlocked smartphone with prices starting at $1,195 in Aluminum while the Titanium model costs $1,595. Pre-orders start now with shipping expected by the first quarter of 2018.
