Google just won a major court battle with software giant Oracle over Google’s use of components of Oracle’s Java programming language. LG joins Fingerprint Cards in announcing a fingerprint module that can be integrated under the same glass cover as a cell phone's display, thus removing the need for a button. This will allow smartphone manufacturers to have truly seamless designs with the potential for waterproofing while still offering fingerprint authentication. Expect devices with this new technology before the end of the year.
