Today, the Bluetooth Special Interest Group shared what we can expect from the evolving technology. The next version will quadruple the range of connections and double their speeds without increase in power consumption. Bluetooth version 5 also increases broadcasting capacity eight-fold, meaning much more data can be sent in a single interaction. The release of Bluetooth 5 is expected early 2017.
