Samsung announced today the world's first removable Universal Flash Storage memory cards, the successor to the microSD card. These UFS cards have read speeds of up to 530 megabytes per second which is five times faster than the current best microSD cards. This is equivalent to reading a 5 gigabyte movie in roughly 10 seconds, compared to around 50 seconds with microSD. Currently there are no products that support these speedy removable storage cards. However, it's possible to see them compatible with the next Galaxy smartphones. Note7 anyone?
