One of the world's most successful hip-hop labels is making a documentary with the world's richest company. A deal with Cash Money Records marks another step in Apple's effort to develop television programming. Apple has signed Willi.i.am as a judge for its reality show, secured Carpool Karaoke with CBS's James Corden and is also funding a miniseries starring Dr. Dre. It seems Apple is fixed on finding ways to incorporate it's streaming music service while building television content.

Pink plus purple equals a new operating system? It appears Google has started work on a entirely new operating system. The project's name is Fuchsia, but the company has yet to comment on its intended function. Some speculate it will unify Chrome OS and Android while others think it could be used for "smart devices" connected around the house. One thing is for sure, Fuchsia's core code is designed to be lightweight and open sourced. It's possible that this mystery OS could soon be popping up all over the place.

Thanks to a new leak, we’re getting a peek at what may be one of the new Nexus phones slated for later this year. The images allegedly show the Nexus phone S1, codenamed "Sailfish." This is said to be the smaller of the two phones, with a body made mostly of metal. Although, there appears to be a glass or plastic insert on the backside housing a fingerprint reader and rear camera. Obviously much more needs to be uncovered but October can't come soon enough.

The official announcement of LG's latest smartphone has been confirmed. The LG V20 will be unveiled September 6th in San Francisco. LG has also confirmed that the V20 will be the first smartphone to ship out of the box with Android 7.0 Nougat! A little strange, because normally this is done by Google and their Nexus branded devices. Renders have appeared in the wild revealing a similar design to the LG G5 including dual rear cameras. It's also possible that LG's modular approach to smartphones can find its way to the LG V20.

T-Mobile is now challenging AT&T and Verizon's dominance, while Sprint’s service is the source of its continued struggles. T-Mobile came out on top in four out of six categories, including 4G/3G speeds and 3G latency. In the past six months T-Mobile has substantially improved with average speeds clocked at 17 Mbps. Verizon, Sprint and AT&T’s speeds were lower than 15 Mbps. So how is T-Mobile still third behind both Verizon and AT&T? It has to do with history and public perception of course, since Magenta is about to overtake Big Red in terms of 4G availability too.
