LG has revealed some info about their upcoming flagship smartphone. The LG G8 will feature a 3D time-of-flight front-facing camera sensor, which is expected to offer quick and precise facial recognition. Similar to FaceID, this time-of-flight camera will use infrared light to build a 3D model of the subject and confirm identity. In addition to authentication, the LG G8 chip's depth measurement capabilities should allow for selfies with improved portrait bokeh effects, as well as a better AR experience. The LG G8 is expected to be announced at the end of February.
