Apple Could Replace Touch ID For Face Recognition

via Instagram Analysts believe that Apple is looking to pass on its existing Touch ID sensor, and instead rely on new biometric technologies. Facial recognition and optical fingerprint sensors would be necessary for Apple to execute a zero-bezel smartphone, currently rumored for the iPhone 8. The analysts also suspect Apple will eventually rely solely on face recognition for authentication, eliminating the Touch ID sensor entirely. The timeline for this is unclear but seems to be in the distant future. //
