According to a new Milwaukee County Board ordinance, “location-based augmented reality games” will need a permit before being able to use park locations. According to reports, the ordinance was proposed when the city of Milwaukee could not hold the creators of Pokémon Go, Niantic Inc. financially responsible for damages caused at various parks last Summer. This could set a dangerous precedent for future games as it’s likely that we’ll see other cities require such permits as well.

This could set a dangerous precedent for future games as it’s likely that we’ll see other cities require such permits as well. Though it's craze may have faded, Pokémon Go still reached a billion dollars in revenue faster than any other mobile game so far.
