After reporting losses for seven consecutive quarters, HTC's president of Smartphone and Connected Devices, asserted their return to profitability by reducing product offerings to a small number of projects with potential for "profitable sales." This includes getting out of the "ultra competitive" entry-level smartphone market. HTC insists their development and marketing is better spent on a few higher-margin devices. The company states they will not be presenting more than 7 devices this year. The 5.7" HTC U Ultra will have a price tag of $749 and will be available in March.
